FSAC is the Cancer Support Community’s landmark cancer education series. FSAC provides sound medical and psychological information for cancer patients and their loved ones.
Through a variety of means (print, online and in person programs) we present information about cancer in a conversational way. At the CSC, we know that being diagnosed with cancer can be very scary and you can feel very alone. Having trusted, easy to understand information that demystifies life with cancer can help you and your loved ones feel better about the choices you make about managing your cancer.
We want to help you be equipped with information that lets you to have a dialogue with your treatment team so you can work in partnership to manage the disease. Remember, you may have cancer but cancer doesn’t have you.
Best of all, our materials and programs are free to patients and loved ones. Our materials are reviewed by medical experts including oncologists, nurses, social workers, and patient advocacy groups and even patients and caregivers. We work hard to learn about what it is like to have cancer and reflect that in FSAC.
In our books, you will see pictures and read quotes from actual patients and loved ones dealing with the topic of the book. In our workshops you will have a chance to ask questions of medical experts, patients and other experts. Online you will read quotes from patients and caregivers about their experience and have an opportunity to get connected with other people like you through our online community, the Living Room and other experts in cancer support and education.
